Prerequisites: In order to become a CFP® practitioner, you need to complete all six courses of the CFP® certification professional education program. However, certain credentials such as a CLU, ChFC, CPA, and JD allow you "challenge" the requirements for the CFP. Full details are available via CFP Board. Are you a CPA? We have a special program designed exclusively for CPA's looking to become a CFP® certificants.

All new CFP® certificants are now required to have a 4-year degree such as a BA or BS. Don't have a bachelor's degree? The College has partnered with University of Phoenix to offer a credit equivalency program to help you earn a Bachelor of Science in Business/Finance while completing your studies for the CFP® Certification. Challenge Examinations: Graduates of our AAMS®, AWMA®, CMFC®, and CRPC® programs qualify to test out of up to 1/3 of our CFP Certification Professional Education Program. Student Loans are available

Most students complete their studies within 1-2 years. Completing the program fulfills the core education requirement for certification by CFP Board of Standards, qualifying you to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination. Additional information on CFP Board’s requirements can be found here. Completion may allow you to earn up to 15 semester credit hours toward a bachelor's degree or master's degree in personal financial planning, and between 150-278 hours of continuing education credit with some organizations.
