Chartered Mutual Fund CounselorSM or CMFC®
Professional Designation Program
The CMFC® Program provides the education necessary to earn the only industry-recognized mutual fund designation. The result of collaboration between the College for Financial Planning and the Investment Company Institute (ICI)—the primary trade association for the mutual fund industry—the program’s quality and thoroughness reflect the combined experience and expertise of the College and the ICI.
This program provides you with a thorough knowledge of mutual funds and their various uses as investment vehicles. The case studies used throughout the course—presenting client scenarios and pointing out opportunities for you to make the most of these popular investments—provide insight into effective use of these investment vehicles. As a graduate of the program, you can approach mutual funds with a new understanding and confidence and communicate that confidence to your clients.
Upcoming Online MENTOR Class Schedule
Most students complete their studies within 2 months. The CMFC® Program may also allow you to earn up to 3 semester credit hours toward a bachelor's degree and between 27–45 hours of continuing education credit with some organizations.
The curriculum is based on a client-centered, problem-solving method using case studies to give you a hands-on approach to the material. Also included are open-ended, multiple-choice, and case analysis related questions to help you prepare for the exam and equip you with knowledge to help your clients. The College's highly qualified, full-time faculty is available via telephone, e-mail, and fax to support you in your studies.
